The Marquee Stage in the centre of the village is the hub and pivotal point of all the festival activity. With a diameter of 48 metres, the largest marquee in Switzerland offers the ideal atmosphere for up to 2,000 spectators.

Built and fitted out by the Zermatt artist Heinz Julen, the club in the immediate vicinity of the main marquee represents the “Backstage” platform for the Festival Marquee, where well-known Swiss and international acts will perform. The original Unplugged idea arose here, and has developed from a small series of concerts to today’s festival. The latest feature: After-Show parties every night!

When the sun sinks far away in the west, over the summit of the Matterhorn and beyond the Zmuttgrat Ridge, it’s the time to warm yourself up at the Sunnegga Sessions: atmospheric concerts at 2,288 metres above sea level, performed by exceptionally talented musicians. The astronomer from the Gornergrat observatory took out his nautical triangle and calculated: sunset on the Sunnegga will be at 9.21 p.m. A welcome by an open fire after a day on the mountain, a hot soup, and then 45 minutes of acoustic music, plus encores. Zermatt Unplugged stages singer-songwriters to who you can listen while closing your eyes.

The Hotel Alex, in close proximity to the festival site and only a few minutes from the railway station, has already become a legend. The atmosphere there is unique: good, hand-made music on the sun terrace right next to the Sunset Bar, and, when it snows, we can dream of the good old days in front of a crackling log fire.

The Blue Lounge at Blauherd is the highest altitude location in the ski area. How can you rock at 2,580 metres above sea level? Our recommendation: start your festival day with the Blue Lounge, and then return to the the village on skis in gentle curves. The Blue Lounge can also be visited as a non-skier: with the Sunnegga-Express and aerial cable car to the Blauherd.

Ski area Rothorn Paradise

Chalet, forest and vision: the Cervo is on everyone’s lips in Switzerland and is picking up one award after the other. Ski-in, Metro-out: the Cervo stage lies at the end of the Ried ski slope, and is the perfect interface between the ski area and the village, from where the location can be reached in only a few minutes via the Sunnegga Tunnel and lift.

A new stage in the historical area between the Matterhorn Museum and the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof. As an Official Partner, this traditional hotel belonging to the civic community accommodates many of our artists, and is now also enriching the festival events through its involvement with the New Talents. The marmots on the village well will have to look out – the winter hibernation is at an end!

In 2010, this tent alongside the Marquee Stage became the meeting point for all festival fans. With gourmet-level food stands, a bar and a lounge, the Foyer Tent is really the place to be! Nowhere else is there such an opportunity for our new talents to give an acoustic performance in front of so many visitors.

The Pink in the Hotel Post, which is fondly known as the “Pöschtli” by insiders, is one of the most famous clubs in Zermatt for high-class live music. It enjoys a reputation well beyond the Swiss border, and can look back at a long rock 'n ’roll history. The first dancing club in Switzerland started here, and the Post has been a second home for international musicians.
